Soft Pouches by Faire Leather
This style of pouch is my personal favorite for several reasons. This is the most historically accurate pouch that I make for the Early Medieval period. And to me it is by far the most comfortable to wear. Even loaded to the gills, this pouch is soft and lies gently next to the body. I make two distinct styles of these pouches. The first group of three are Drawstring style pouches that to hang on your belt. These are period correct for the Late Middle Ages, and are commonly seen in painting of the era. Of course the customer has a choice of colors, and this pouch can be decorated or trimmed in a second color if you wish. Prices start at $35.00

This second group of Pouches is the style that I personally use. It is a fairly large pouch that measures roughly 8 1/2 inches long and 7 inches wide. Of course the actual dimensions are up to you! The front and flap of the soft pouch is created from a heavier grade of upholstery leather, while the backside is a heavier vegetable tanned leather, that allows this pouch to always retain its shape. The cover flap is fashioned with a second layer of leather trim that when sewn together give the flap a little more back bone while still retaining the high style that only this type of pouch can offer. I have created several of this style pouch with a shoulder strap so that M'Lady can carry it over the shoulder instead of on a belt.
These pouches are custom crafted for each customer in either of the two styles shown here, and that allows you to select the color(s) of the pouch. And from one of several pewter fittings, and closures. I can provide this pouch with a magnetic closure, a snap, wooden peg closure, or the traditional button and braided leather pull thong.
